New Multi Strand Bracelets

Multi strand bracelets are not a new thing, and part of a natural transition when experimenting and trying to find a 'look' for your jewelry line. 

They are also a great way to finish off a strand, or incorporate a few left over beads into a design. Using one offs as the focal helps to use up your bead stock, so you have room for new things! Well that is what I tell myself, we all know I am a bead hoarder :)

This is one of the styles I like to make. One strand made of alternating beads, and a complementary color/property for a solid second strand.  Is a fun look, and has the appearance of wearing two separate bracelets. 

                                       

Then, as the design starts to grow and transition, there is the new style I am working on, a more chunky design, lots of texture and limited amount of color. I want the chunky texture of the tumbled chips to be the focal of the design. 

It is a real fun bohemian look

Hand Painted Cards - Show You Care!

I started making little hand painted cards as thank yous for my pet sitting clients. Just an added touch that separates me from others, and keeps me remembered.

From that grew other ideas. I made angel cards for my mom, a birthday card for my daughter and it just kept going.

I enjoy it so much, making these little hand painted works or art, that people can send, or can keep and frame as a fun little conversation piece.

I have now added them to my Etsy store so everyone can have some! More designs coming!

Support Local Artists - Have A Home Party!

Live in the Raleigh, NC area? Host a jewelry party, and I will bring the store to you! Don't live here? Don't let that stop you, you can host a party online!!

Have the party in your home - No ordering! The product is right there, take it home with you the same night!  It's called a floating party. Schedule your party to last a few hours, example 5PM - 7PM. Tell your friends to stop by. All the jewelry will be set up and ready for them to browse. No pressure, no schpeal, no marketing schemes! Use the time to shop, catch up with your friends, and have a good time!

Have the party online (even if you live in the area, don't have to clean your house :) - orders are shipped the following day to the person who made the order. (*) The responsibility of delivery is off your shoulders! Seamless. It is super easy. Create an event on Facebook, and invite all of your friends. The event can last a maximum of 3 weeks. Post links from my Etsy store and some back to my Facebook page and let the shopping begin! I will issue you a special comment code for your friends to used when placing an order on Etsy. That way I know the sales came from your party.

You and your friends have ample time to shop, and chat about items, even message me or comment on my fan page about custom orders you would like to have. Remember, all items are one of a kind, I don't intentionally duplicate pieces, if there is a piece you are looking at, don't wait too long, when it is gone, it is gone. Orders ship to the buyer immediately, no need to wait til all orders are in! When the event is over, I will tally up all of the sales, and 10% of the sales, goes back to the hostess/host of the event in free jewelry or other hand made gifts!!!!!

Back to the Workbench

Getting back to the bench is always tough for me after a hiatus. I was ready for the holidays early (this is a first) and had all my pieces out in stores, and my online Etsy store stocked well. That gave me time to concentrate, on the house, the guests coming to visit, the cooking, working and last minute everything that I had put off to make jewelry :)

This year, I have decided to get back into shows and festivals, and my first one is Feb 1, 2014!!! Right around the corner! I am really excited. I have ordered my Square, a new banner and  new displays. I am one step closer. I need to buckle down, get a booth idea sketched out and get new items rolling out. Now sitting back at my workbench, ideas are there, I am just slow to produce them. My mind seems to be elsewhere.

To combat this, I put on music and randomly string. I do not commit the design, I just string, unstring, string, unstrings. Next thing you know, I have some ideas that actually are working for me, and I am excited to start on a new creations.

I Think I am Protesting!!!!!

I did it!! I made the decision to make a stand. I posted this on my Facebook Fan Page -  

"I am committing the biggest business mistake and am proud of it. I know earlier this week I made the comment about small business Saturday and cyber Monday. Well, I have changed my mind and I am closed on Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. (I will be open on Sunday!) 

 I sell my jewelry and crystals at a discounted price to begin with, because my theory is that everyone should have something pretty, a piece of original art, something that has meaning at a cost that is affordable. I will not buy into the greed and envy that I feel these giant blowout sales promote.

 Enjoy your holiday weekend, visit with your family, watch what you eat, play a card game, sit up too late and watch an old movie. Unplug from the everyday chaos and relax for a change. I send you peace and love!!!" 


Selling my jewelry and crystals is just as much of a joy for me as the making of the jewelry. I love the interaction and the meaning that the jewelry or crystal has for the person.  I love being able to help my clients find the perfect stones, or the perfect piece of jewelry that reflects who they are, what they are and where they are going in their journeys.

That being said, I am going to use the time to meditate, create, visit, enjoy, relax and celebrate another day in my life.

Celebrating 'Get Organized Month' With A Giveaway! - Closed

It's not that I am not motivated - I am - really.
What I am not is organized.

Because I am not organized, I am making more work for myself. I bought storage tubs, and shelving - but I didn't organize my tubs. I just put things in the tubs, to get stuff off my work area, and clear my computer desk. When I want to start project, I have to dig thru tubs trying to find what components I want to use and get everything collected.

Now a lot of my problem is - I don't throw anything away. Everything can be used to create something..... right - scraps of colored paper, rubber bands, memory chips, washers, fishing lures, it all gets collected, and tubbed. (This is a complete contradiction for the rest of my house - I throw everything away)(strange bird I am)
