Custom Pieces - Turquoise and Labradorite Set

One of my favorite things is working with someone who has an idea about a new piece of jewelry, and making it come to life for them. 

This is a recent work up, I didn't have all of the stones that I needed and I needed to place an order, right before Christmas. I couldn't guarantee delivery on the piece, and she was fine with that.   I ordered on 12/19/18 and it showed up on 12/22/18 - it was a Christmas miracle!! They were made and delivered on 12/23/18

Way to go Firemountain Gems!!! 

I can't speak well enough about Firemountain Gems. amazing!!!

She wanted a labradorite and turquoise multi layer necklace. Labradorite because it is the stone of magic and turquoise because it is a master healer and more. 

I had the turquoise, but not the labradorite. I honestly really wanted to wait for the local gem show so I could see it and pick the strands that had the most fire, but that wasn't going to happen until the end of Jan. 

Next best thing, I went to Firemountain Gems. 

I found out a long time ago, FMG doesn't play when it comes to quality and customer satisfaction.  I have also found, they are straight up when it comes to their descriptions of their product. They tell you what grade the stone, if it is heat treated, color enhanced, re constituted and more, so there is no guessing. 

I had no reservations shopping online for the labradorite, knowing I would get a beautiful product, and there would be that glorious flash that shows up in labradorite when it is good quality. 

I honestly can't thank Firemountain Gems enough for their speedy service and quality of product!

As a surprise, her mother asked to have a pair of earrings made, so she would have something to open on Christmas - but as it happens, she got both!!!

Timi and Leslie Sahara Tag-a-Long Diaper Tote - Product Review

I got an email from Kate of CSN Stores offering me a chance to review some of their awesome products! CSN Store offers shopping on more than 200 websites! Everything from home decor to clothes, to health & fitness to gardening, and so much more!!!

Being that my blog is about jewelry and jewelry related things (98% of the time) I wanted to keep the product I reviewed relative to that. Boy was that hard!!! You should see all the choices and great deals!! (Then they have the Contest Corner - *smacks forehead* you really need to see that!)

So what did I get? Welp, I have been looking for a tote, something sturdy and pockety and pretty and compartmenty, you get the idea. There was nothing that was 'craft' specific, but I did find this great diaper tote. This is a Timi and Leslie Sahara Tag-a-Long Diaper Tote.



It is pretty, and well made and double stitched to be extra sturdy. I feel confident I can load this puppy up with beads, magazines, tools, bottles of water, lunch, first aid kit, Nintendo DS, books....*blink* *blink* ok, maybe I am getting ahead of myself.



Zipper pocket on the side along with 4 deep pockets around the rest of the tote. The pockets are held closed with a magnet sewn into the fabric to be extra secure! There is the handle straps or there is a removable shoulder strap. Carry it the way you want it!



Inside, tucked away in one of the pockets is this great little 'changing mat'. It is nice to know you would have a clean surface to change your baby on, but I am thinking, it is a great way to carry my tools!! I don't have to worry about being poked or stuck with a sharp edge!!

I wanted you to see all the storage and organizing capability of this tote. I don't have mine packed yet :) This is perfect for any event, or take it on vacation! It is just a nice bag all around!

What was in my mailbox!!!

I got a real compliment from Duchess over at ArtBeads. She sent me an email asking me to join their blogging group to blog about their products and jewelry supplies. I was thrilled.

I was given a list of products and made my choice.

When I got home last nite, what was in my mail box???

Cue music!!!



I was so excited. I jumped up and down at the street and waved my box at cars as they went by. One person even honked at me. I do love being a kid.

I ripped open the packaging and there it was. One of the most beautiful beads I have ever seen.

30x40mm Rectangle Black Onyx Matisse - Blue Nude

This is from the Artist Masterpiece Pendants collection at ArtBeads.

I keep picking it up and looking at it and not blogging about it. Put it down Tish, there is time to admire it later! The pictures do not do it justice. Hand painted and signed on black onyx, with a beautiful protective glossy finish. It is surprisingly light.

When I was given the list of items to choose from, and I saw this, the design instantly came into my head. I am going to go with the onyx, and add lapis and white jade. I have sterling plated chain coming. It will be a multi layered look. I can't wait to make it!!

Am gonna go get a drink of water, and dance around the house for a while. Wednesdays are great days for dancing!

Oh, and to tell you how much of a goof I am about certain things -my teeth are dry from smiling too much at this bead.
