Flooding the Streets with Art!!!! Friday, Nov 28, 2014 - The Entire World!

I have been getting my pieces together to drop this Friday, as I participate in,

Flood the Streets with Art.

Flood the Streets with Art.
Brain child of Scott Wong, that artists everywhere are helping to nurturer into a living, loving beautiful entity. It is a peaceful, giving movement to promote artists everywhere.

I have been working on my pieces to have them ready.

Acrylic - 18x24 stretched canvas

Heat treated agate, wrapped in copper with American Beauty turquoise accent - to promote harmony in communication

Fresh water pears wrapped in copper and accented with Swarovski crystals.  To promote charity and integrity

Agate wrapped in copper and accented with moonstones. This pendant is to promote balance, harmony and bring hope.

Look in your streets on Friday,. there may be an artist dropping beautiful pieces for you to find :)

Fresh Water Pearl Cluster

Everywhere I look I see this color combination, I blame it on Vera Bradley :)

I am still so in love with these clusters, and something about pearls, whether fresh water or cultured, just gives class! This one makes me fell all dressed up and special.

Did you know pearls give purity and promote faith, charity, and integrity, truth and loyalty. They especially enhance personal integrity.

Off to the work table to make more! What color combinations would you use?

Hope and Harmony Bracelet - Bid for Charity!

I made this piece to represent hope and harmony, after reading about Ark R.A.I.N. Wildlife Sanctuary.  I heard about them by a cross post from my cousin. They were doing a call for auction items to help their cause. As I read about what they did, I knew what I needed to do.

This piece came easy, there was no denying the combination. Hope, harmony, self love and more

Beautiful jewelry with a message of hope - does it get much better?

Ideas on Promoting your Art from Alyson B. Stanfield

I follow ArtBizBlog and love it. Alyson has such good advice, and what I love about it, she gets to the point, and allows you to run with it.

Her most recent is 50 things you can do better to promote your art. The list of the 50 things can be found here for you to view and use, "no strings attached" she says. Brilliant!

I am going to start with #1 and work my way thru her advice to #50 and I am excited about it.

She is also doing something very near and dear to my heart. She is giving back. She has set a goal to raise $5000 for charity to dig a well for a village.  It is a big goal, but it is also a big deal. Clean water is a very important building block for health. If a person is healthy they can do so much.

Now you say, but I don't have $5 much less $50 to donate to this charity. Don't loose site of the goal, it is not always money that a charity needs, awareness is also very important. So if you can't give money, give some time to tell someone else about it.

Making a difference is easy :)

"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Introducing - Basking Tabby

This is the piece I am donating to the auction for a local no kill shelter - Safe Haven.

This is a no kill shelter for cats, so I wanted the piece to have a 'theme' of sorts w/o being kitschy.

*think* *think*

I am attracted to the warmth of orange, so I decided to go with carnelian, tiger eye, some fun glass to stay with orange -

Hey - Tabby's are orange....I have an orange tabby.

I based a lot of this design on my tabby - Zeus. General consensus has it that orange tabbies are the most affectionate and loving of all cats. Blame it on the color. If you have or have had an orange tabby you know what I am talking about. They have to be near you all the time, be in your face, touch you, follow you, talk to you, rub on you, lay in your clothes, follow you, panick when they can't see you - needy is a good word.

In this design I used that 'personality' of my Zeus to create a draped and lazy front design. He has to drape across me or my work at all times.

Here it is -

Basking Tabby - carnelian, tiger eye, white jade, magnesite, and millefiori glass from Sedona Stones.

Close up of the sterling cat charms that are tucked in the design, also from Artbeads.

And as always - Zeus walking thru at least one of my shots.............

Basking Tabby

I have assembled the mess of beads that will become the piece I am donating to an auction for a local no kill shelter. Safe Haven

Blurb from their site -

This year more than ever SAFE Haven For Cats (SHFC) is depending on support for their Fifth Annual Tuxedo Cat Ball. A dual celebration of our biggest fundraiser event of the year and our 15th Anniversary. Funds raised at this special event will be used in 2009 to rescue and adopt more than 500 cats and kittens and to assist our community by providing feline spay and neuter services to more than 3,000 cats in connection with SAFE Care Feline Spay Neuter Clinic.

Out of this tangled mess will come a big and bold necklace, and a compliment piece of either earrings or bracelet..I cant' decide. Staying true to the theme, I have already named the set - Basking Tabby - for the cat, and to reflect the warm colors in the stones.

All of these came from Sedona Stones
