What Was I Thinking!!

I have been at this a long time! 20 years in fact. I have had a lot of fun over the years and had my share of recognition when this medium ...

Do you know Kyanite?

This is one of my all time favorites. Maybe it is the blue, maybe it is the properties, maybe it is the texture in the stone, maybe it is all of the above, but I can say, kyanite makes my heart happy.

The name kyanite comes from the Greek word kuanos sometimes referred to as "kyanos", meaning deep blue.

I this from a rockhounds blog -
Outside of Philadelphia, behind a baseball field in an old early suburban areas, Kyanite of a very decent quality can be obtained. But don’t forget to bring your rubber gloves! ...Read More

How fun would it be to do this!!!!

Kyanite is a gemstone that does not accumulate negative energies, so it never needs to be cleansed. It is also known to bring tranquility and calm. Along with this, it is said to promote the ability to speak more easily and express oneself more clearly, and will even assist in learning a new language.

If you are in a position where you are required to speak, i.e. lecture, present, etc. you would benefit from kyanite!

I combined the kyanite with citrine for a double dose of blocking negativity - how can you go wrong :)

New Pendants

Here is a peek at what I have been working on this week.

Jasper off center doughnut. I didn't see much need in adding too much to the copper wire. These two complimented each other so much, I just left it alone!

I have been pushing this bronzite square doughnut around my work table for months now thinking of something to do with it. I looked over at it, and a piece of copper wire was laying across it - the idea sprung to my head and I began to work.

Not only does the kyanite rectangle accent the bronzite bead, did you know, bronzite is called the Stone of Courtesy". Bronzite helps dispel uncertainty, it can help us also take necessary actions for our own benefit, while still being loving and polite and principled in our behavior.

Kyanite brings loyalty, honesty and tranquility, and diminishes anger and confusion.

Two great stones that look good together and function great together!!!

Till next time!!

With a little help from my friends - Green kyanite necklace

I am at a crossroads and I need your help.

I am working on this necklace -

I want it to have the feel or look that you are wearing more than one necklace. A layering look. I love to pair up necklaces and wear several at a time. With this one, there is no effort, the one necklace does it for you.

I love this green kyanite. Kyanite is a personal favorite of mine. It is used for so many things. From fire bricks for kilns to brake pads to spark plugs to your very own porcelain bathroom sink! Did you know that??

I have an appreciation for kyanite and its everyday worth in our world, but I love it because of its properties. Kyanite brings loyalty, honesty and tranquility, and diminishes anger and confusion. Kyanite does not retain negative energy and never needs energetic cleansing. (1)

I paired the kyanite with peach aventurine and quartz. They compliment each other so well.

Aventurine benefits one in all areas of creativity, and imagination as well as intellect and mental clarity. It enhances prosperity and brings career success. It is a gentle stone energetically that gives a sense of calm and balance and enhances happiness. It also helps one to see potentials in all situations, giving a positive outlook, courage and inner strength. Aventurine brings friendship to one’s life.(2)

Honesty and friendship - I can't think of anything better :)

I did a simple wire wrap with copper on this mother of pearl pendant to create the focal.

Now I need to know what is missing. I keep looking at it scratching my head. It is two great looks, simple and clunky. It should work, right? Do I need to add dangles on the chain? Coins? Copper beads? Crystals? Would that flesh it out more? Do I need to separate the two and leave it at that?

What do I do?

Help me Bead-Oh-Wan-Kanobi, you're my only hope.
