The Color Green and It's Many Meanings

Green is the color of nature, it is all around us and one of the easiest colors for our eyes to see. 

Green is a secondary color, meaning it is a mixture of two other colors. 

In this case - blue and yellow. 

With green being born from two other colors, it carries the energy or magic lets say of those two colors and then it has its own. 

Let's talk about those energies :)

Green has a foundation in happiness, mental clarity and optimism from yellow and calm, tranquility, communication and truth from blue. That is a proper foundation!

Green itself has its own magic of harmony and balance - think of it green is everywhere! Green is also the heart, the center of our body therefore it promotes promotes love. Love of nature, of family, of pets. . Green represents growth. Look outside at all the green around you, nature is a great representation of growth with all the green. 

Green is hope. For me it is easy to see, especially during the winter when there is no green around, there is anticipation of hope for the spring to come. 

Have you every heard green with envy? That may come from property of green that makes us feel we need to possess things. We need material objects to make us happy. 

Color is all around us and can affect our moods and thinking. Because of this, 

color is used in advertising and psychology because of the impact color can have on us.

What exactly is the spring equinox?

On the equinoxes the Sun shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal – but not quite. The March equinox marks the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from south to north and vice versa in September.

Chrysocolla and Brass Coin Earrings - Jewelry with Meaning - Communication

I found a listing on Facebook, someone had several strands of gemstones they bought to make jewelry and decided they didn't want to do it anymore. 

I got some beautiful strands 

One of them was chrysocolla. 

At first I wasn't for sure what to do with them. Then one day digging thru my stash, and organizing I found these fun brass coins. 

It all fell into place after that!!

Tanzanite Pendant - Jewelry with Purpose - Transformation

At Bonnaroo every year, one of my favorite places to stop and shop is Twisted Bliss Designs. 

This year I got a fairy quartz (top) and a tanzanite! (bottom) 

I was so excited about this purchase. That tanzanite was the perfect shape to wrap for a pendant.

Chunky Amethyst and Dyed Quartz Points Necklace - Jewelry with Purpose - Amplified Peace

I made this one with great excitement when I found out the jewelry trends for 2019 were going to be big, chunky styles. 

Thats my favorite!

Big amethyst beads offset with dyed AB finish quartz points. A handmade wire wrapped sterling free form wire pendant is the focal. 

It's not a long piece, 19", so it sits just passed the collar bone. Right at the opening of a shirt, and becomes the star of the show. 

Amethyst is the stone of peace and calm, and quartz is an energy amplifier. 

Not a bad thing to have amped up!

I won't be offended if this necklace is out of trend now, because it is just my style, and I may have to start wearing it!!!

Bronzite, Agate and Garnet Copper Bracelet - Jewelry with Meaning - Courtesy, Harmony and Love

These big fat stone coins are perfect to lay flat around your wrist. This bracelet is def substantial. 

Bronzite is the stone of courtesy, especially helpful for people who work with the public. Maybe I should mail some to the local DMV.....

Agate and Sodalite Necklace with Tree of Life Pendant - Jewelry with Meaning - Harmony in Thought

I went to the Bead and Gem show at the fairgrounds in Raleigh. I love to go, not always to buy, there is just so much to see!

I found these silver tone tree of life pendants. I have the in copper tone, but have never seen silver. Fell in love. 

Now what to do with them?

Agate and sodalite are a great combination. 

Not only because of color, because orange and blue look awesome together, but also for properties.

Snowflake obsidian cabochon I got in a random lot from KGNShop on Etsy. 

So many fun cabs came from that lot.

Rose Quartz Wire Wrapped in Copper - Jewelry with Purpose - Love and Forgiveness

I got these rose quartz cabochons from KGNShop on Etsy. When they have a sale, someone hold my wallet, please!!

These are real beauties, and fun to wrap. I got them in ovals and tear drops and they are a big hit in my shop. 

The way they are cut, it leaves the natural form of the rose quartz on the top of the stone, and a matte finish on the back of the stone. 

Did you know that rose quartz is always translucent, but never transparent? It never forms in crystal faces or in crystals, that would make it pink quartz!

Copper Wire Wrapped Serpentine Donut Pendant - Not Jade

A lot of times you will see serpentine sold as jade. But this isn't the case. Serpentine has a waxy feel to its finish, and is light weight. It also makes more of a thunk when tapped. Jade has a glassy smoother finish and is heavier than it looks. It also makes a 'tink' when tapped. 

If you have bought this stone before, meaning serpentine, but you were told it was jade, never fear. Serpentine is a beautiful little stone with amazing properties!

Serpentine is a great stone for meditation opening doors for spiritual exploration. It helps with directing healing energy toward problem areas. Think of it as your guide to past lives, helping you regain those lost memories and wisdom.

Sodalite on Copper Wire Loop Earrings - Logic

18 ga copper wire formed into a loop and hammered for stability.

Wire wrapped with 24 ga copper wire to keep the shape.

Center drilled heishi cut sodalite beads wire wrapped to the bottom.

Surprisingly light and with a flirty fun swing. You know they are there, but they are not distracting. 

Sodalite is the stone of logic. It encourages rational thought, objectivity, truth and intuition, along with honest communication of feelings. Sodalite brings emotional balance and calms panic attacks. It enhances self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-trust.

Titanium Coated Quartz Point Pendant

I got several drilled quartz points that were titanium coated, to give them this awesome rainbow finish. I can't remember where I got these from!!!

So easy to do just a quick wrap with sterling wire on the top to create the bale and a shabby chic design with the wire. I wanted the quartz point to be the focal, not the wire. 

I really am surprised at the weight of the pendant. It hangs beautifully from the sterling chain.

The light hits the quartz just right, and all the colors show up!

So much fun, and so versatile. Wear it alone or stack it with other necklaces to make your own look!

Tie Dye is Not Just for T Shirts!!

In a world of a higher consciousness,  re purposing, recycling and up cycling are in the forefront of so many peoples mind. 

I am more aware now of what I do, what I waste, what I use, where it is sourced and so forth.

There are so many cotton clothes that I can get a rubber band around, and that means, I can dye it :)

Give It Up For Orange! Tie Dye!

I love orange. I don't think it gets the credit it deserves. I rarely hear anyone say orange when they are asked what their favorite color is. 

To be honest, my favorite color is blue, it always has been, but lately (in the last few years) I am really starting to gravitate to orange. 

Orange and blue go so well together, it does seem like a perfect progression. 

Did you know orange is the color of courage and creativity? Encouragement and fascination?

But it is not a bad thing.
