Sodalite on Copper Wire Loop Earrings - Logic
18 ga copper wire formed into a loop and hammered for stability.
Wire wrapped with 24 ga copper wire to keep the shape.
Center drilled heishi cut sodalite beads wire wrapped to the bottom.
Surprisingly light and with a flirty fun swing. You know they are there, but they are not distracting.
Sodalite is the stone of logic. It encourages rational thought, objectivity, truth and intuition, along with honest communication of feelings. Sodalite brings emotional balance and calms panic attacks. It enhances self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-trust.

Copper Wire Wrapped Cuff - Iolite and Quartz - Amplified Intuition
I am re visiting a design from 9 years ago.
I started making jewelry because I wanted something that fit my personality, not something that was a popular trend.
It has been so much fun to explore, create, design and fulfill a need in me to have an idea become not only tangible but functioning.
I love bangles, but what I have found, because of industry standards, my large working hands will not fit into a bangle. So I have wore cuffs. (I make awesome bangles now, I will touch on them later)
So because I wear bangles, I want bangles that are more artistic, organic, flowing than what I can find in a store. You know the classic, cuff with stones in bezel cups?
That is how my wire wrapped cuffs were born.
Let's make a cuff with texture, design and uniqueness that will also carry energy and properties from stones.
Completely adjustable, comfortable and stackable!
Iolite and quartz chips wire wrapped onto 16 ga copper wire, hammered into form for strength and reinforced with a wire coil wrap.
Iolite is for intuition, it restores a sense of perception, inspires creativity and more. Quartz is a natural energy amplifier. These go great together!
I can't wait to sit down at my bench and make several more of these. They are just so much fun!

Orbicular Jasper Pendant
I got a mess of jasper beads given to me by a friend. In this bag, were drilled focal beads in all different shapes and sizes. They are all perfect sizes for pendants. I love this little orbicular jasper, also ocean jasper.
It was the perfect stone to wrap in copper, not only because of its color, but because of its properties. Copper is an energy conductor and helps to amplify your thoughts. It also boosts your self-esteem. When someone is feeling agitated, angry, or distraught, your calming energies will help them calm down as well.
Orbicular jasper is known to be a nurturing and protective stone, like all jaspers. It can help encourage patience, release emotional blockages and rid us of pent-up anger. It is a stone of joy and renewed enthusiasm for the cycles of life, especially when worn or placed over the Heart chakra. Orbicular Jasper eases depression and encourages empathy towards others, while at the same time preventing rivalries. When placed over the Solar Plexus chakra, this Jasper will help to remove chronic stress.
See how these are great companions!!!

Little Charms Sending a Big Message - Charm Necklaces
Charms are the big thing heading into fall 2016 according to Harper's.
I love the simple statement that a charm cluster makes. That simple statement by no means is less powerful in the right combinations.
This piece is light blue hand made ceramic bead with little spots. It is playful with the seed bead charms, and the color blue let's people know you are a believer in peace. Paired with a tiny chalcedony bead for brotherhood, and look at what you are saying!
This tiny charm cluster of calcite, amethyst, labradorite and swarovski crystal is a message of peace. Amethyst is the stone of peace and labradorite and calcite reduce stress. Beautiful!!!

New Bracelets in the Shop!
Been busy bulking up my inventory, have several shows lined up for this summer, and one is a 3 day-er! I am really excited and feeling really creative.
This one looks like a party to me! Glass coins, re purposed acrylic beads, fun textured wood beads, vintage lucite from The Beadin Path, and swarovski crystals on copper. It has some heft and makes a great clacking sound. I may have to keep this one :)
I love asymmetrical designs too. It is like telling a story, it starts; with one thing, then there is a plot twist and then the best finish! This is vintage lucite beads from The Beadin Path, faceted glass and dichoric glass focal bead.
Then there is the great spring time hodge podge of left over beads. They all come together to make the best collection! I love this one, it is so happy to me.
I love when the ideas just flow and I can really get a grasp on the image in my head!!!

Finally Found My Calling With Clusters
Several months ago, while captain of the biggest pity ship you have ever seen, like a pity yacht, I was over taking pictures of my jewelry. I was struggling with different ideas of how to photograph my pieces. This has been an ongoing battle. It really is not anything new. I have friends who are photographers, do I pay them for a couple weekends a month, do I take classes, do I invest in a better camera, or do I take decorating classes (to learn props and magic for shots)
This took me on a search thru the vastness of the interwebs looking at different jewelry sites, and seeing how they laid out their shots, what props did they use, how bright were their shots and anything else I could learn. As I ambled thru, what I began to notice about these shops was they all seemed, themed. Themed as in the jewelry was all very similar. A similar technique, or similar style. There was continuity about the presentation, and it was very appealing to me. It made me want to shop. It wasn't the photography so much as the content.
I flipped back to my store, and I see the eclectic hodge podge of my work. I have to make everything, every style, play with every technique and put it up for sale. My husbands words came back to haunt me in that instance -"Pick one thing and do it well".
I searched between my Etsy store and my Facebook page, and there it was, like a life preserver thrown to me on that sinking ship of pity. I do clusters. I do them well.
All of that mess up top, was to lead into this. I'm back at the workbench for a new year of designs, a new year of shows and a new year of self discovery. I took what I learned from my photography search and put it to good use as I sit working on new pieces for this year.
I did it and I think with much success. I sat back to work, and ideas started to roll! I think I am on my path :)

September is Sapphires!
I have held onto this strand of raw sapphires for a couple of years now, just waiting on a bit of inspiration. I was at the annual Rings and Things Bead Tour as it came thru my area, and completely, as always, lost my mind at the selection and the prices.
September is the month to celebrate sapphires. Did you know sapphire is a stone of creative expression? Sapphires come in all colors, and if you have a red sapphire, it is a ruby :) What I love about sapphires is they are the stone of hope - they bring hope where there is hopelessness. Isn't that awesome.
This week I am celebrating sapphires and this is the first of a few designs I want to show you.
These tumbled and raw sapphire beads do not diminish in elegance. The swarovski crystals between the beads allow for more flow of the stones due to their irregular shape, and the copper bead caps just finish off the design.
How are you celebrating sapphires this month?

Copper Wire Wrapped Cuff - Inspired by Swirled Fudge!
Poking my way thru some awesome images at Pixabay - (an awesome public domain image site where the posters allow you use their images! ) one afternoon last week, I found this:
This was posted by Shirley of whom I became a fast fan.
I immediately slobbered on myself, because - I am REALLY watching what I eat. (not a diet - i don't believe in them - a life change. 6 lbs so far!)
I got lost in this image - maybe because I was craving something sweet. It became a birds eye view of a map, houses, hilltops, river beds, lakes, I wanted to go there. What would I wear if I went there? (this is how my mind works) Something just as delicious of course!
I let this image which had already taken me to someplace wonderful, take me by the hand, and lead me further into my creativity.
Then this popped up in my head. I RAN to my work table and started sorting thru beads and wire. I couldn't get this finished fast enuff. I was afraid the creativity would melt away like chocolate on a hot summer day, and I would never get it finished
It's a creamy, dreamy, chocolate cuff of stoneware and ceramic, with a touch of swarovski crystals.
Thanks for going on this trip with me. Inspiration can come from many places. Where does yours come from?

Fresh Water Pearl Cluster
Everywhere I look I see this color combination, I blame it on Vera Bradley :)
I am still so in love with these clusters, and something about pearls, whether fresh water or cultured, just gives class! This one makes me fell all dressed up and special.
Did you know pearls give purity and promote faith, charity, and integrity, truth and loyalty. They especially enhance personal integrity.
Off to the work table to make more! What color combinations would you use?

Copper Swirl Pendant with Agate
Staring blankly at my work table, there are times, I just can't get my creativity going. I have found a good fix for that is to fiddle. Not play a violin ( :) ) but to just pick stuff up, mess around, put it down, 99 bottles of beer on the wall...
Wait where was I...
So, I have made this design before, smaller in a pair of earrings. It really is simple, easy, the wire makes its own self into this design kinda thing. Playing with this, I noticed the tree agate briolette... hrm.....
Dig, dig dig...
Yes, I like these little pieces
And - WAH-LA!!!
I love how it just forms all by itself in your hand

"Karma Clusters" Keeping the Design Simple
While I do like my jewerly to make a statement all on its own, I am finding a new appreciation for the simplicity of a design as well.
I love these small clusters on a simple chain. They don't over do it, and the colors I am using are not bold. This is the versatile choice - perfect for dressing up, to the office, or everyday.
This one is made up of rhodonite, amethyst, fluorite, rose quartz and coral. Peace and Love - who wouldn't want this with them everyday!
Copper Wire Heart Necklace
I don't as a rule duplicate my work, but this is so cute, and so customizable. The heart is 14 ga wire, free formed into a heart, hammered, and wire wrapped at the loops for strength. Then going with the obvious - heart, red - I wrapped it with a few accent beads for a color splash.
Any color combination could be used, and any blessing could be added, say, amethyst for peace, who doesn't want a peaceful heart, or agate for harmony, who doesnt' want a harmonious heart!
Do you duplicate your work or do you like to keep all of your work one of a kinds? Do you find it difficult to keep the creativity going when all of your work is one of a kind?

Tree Agate Bracelet
I love this little bracelet. It is full of spring and summer fun.
It all started out with that copper pendant. I had an idea for earrings, but there was only one. What was I going to do with it. Then the idea hit me. Make it a clasp.
It wasn't hard to put the design together. These beads were all leftovers from another project or three. They were laying about the work table, just begging to be put together. Agate for harmony, and amethyst for peace.
The rest kinda explains itself :)

Peace and Love - Messages from a stone necklace
I love being inspired by one component of a design and starting the build from there.
The glass heart pendant started this design. The green in the glass was a perfect compliment to the sandy colors of the jasper beads. Jasper is the stone of gentleness and nurturing. It is said to bring joy. Why not pair it up with that heart, and wear your heart out for all to see and bring joy to those around you!
The little brass clasp with the peace symbol - didn't take much to push me in that direction :) Amethyst, fluorite, apatite and tourmalated rose quartz. Coupled with the lampwork heart - all speak peace.
I added the blue shell that I found on the beach as a personal touch, and now I am a bit torn about it...
Should I change it up?
Does it need a different focal?
Should I stop over analyzing it?
Hammered Coppper Earrings - Mismatched style
This is a fun mismatched style, meaning large and small. Kind of a throw back to the 80's, and I am an 80's child.
I remember off the shoulder sweatshirts, mini skirts, leg warmers, BIG HAIR, heavy make up and some of the best jewerly ever!
These are a fun throw back to that time.
What was your favorite part of the 80's?
Multi stone, multi layer copper necklace
I love the multi layer necklaces!
These are fun to do, especially when you have scraps of chain, or just a few beads.
Don't let the metals/colors of the chains scare you either! Mix and match your silvers, coppers, brasses and golds! Start your own trend!
I used jump rings to connect the wire wrapped links to the closed big copper rings. Gave the design more flow and the wire wrapped layer didn't seem to 'kink' up as much.
Now to snuggle into a nice sweater and display this right on top!

"Celtic Pearls" AKA, How do you name your pieces
I name most of my pieces, do you?
OK, now I am going to admit, there are times when I am bulking up my inventory for a show that I just crank out simple designs, and really don't give them much thought. As much as I would LOVE to make all those funky over the top necklaces only, that isn't the taste of everyone. I don't want to be exclusive. I want to appeal to everyone. Sometimes the KISS rule is the best rule. :)
Then there are those special pieces, that take hours to make. The idea concept, the creation, the finished product. I feel like I have nurtured this piece along it's whole life, and now it is time for it to find it's own home with someone who will wear it and love it - wow - I am sounding a bit crazy here - but it is true! When I am creating this piece I take alot into consideration, the colors I use, the time of year it is, the time of day it is, the stones I use, the design, and a name comes from that. Does it work that way for you?
For example -
This started as a bracelet, but I couldn't stop adding the glass pearls. It felt to bulky to me when I wrapped it around my wrist to size it for a bracelet. I didn't want to remove any of the glass pearls, so what do I do with it - I know! Make it the focal of a necklace. Awesome.
How do I connect it to a necklace. Let's play with some copper. Great, now I have links, but what do I use to connect the links - the chain is too small, multi strands of chain take away from the focal - OH!! Hemp! Ok, now we got a real earthy feel, but there is too much symetry for my taste - Oh, what is this I found? Sweet! Lamp work - add one random one to the mass.
Now lets name it - Well there are pearls. There is a really cool copper swirl, looks Celtic, the green in the lampwork reminds me of Ireland - holy cow - Celtic Pearls!!!!
This is the thought processes that go thru my mind as I work.
Do you find it important to have such a connection with your work, that it has a name?
