Copper Wire Wrapped Cuff - Iolite and Quartz - Amplified Intuition

I am re visiting a design from 9 years ago.

I started making jewelry because I wanted something that fit my personality, not something that was a popular trend.

It has been so much fun to explore, create, design and fulfill a need in me to have an idea become not only tangible but functioning.

I love bangles, but what I have found, because of industry standards, my large working hands will not fit into a bangle. So I have wore cuffs. (I make awesome bangles now, I will touch on them later)

So because I wear bangles, I want bangles that are more artistic, organic, flowing than what I can find in a store. You know the classic, cuff with stones in bezel cups?

That is how my wire wrapped cuffs were born.

Let's make a cuff with texture, design and uniqueness that will also carry energy and properties from stones.

Completely adjustable, comfortable and stackable!

Iolite and quartz chips wire wrapped onto 16 ga copper wire, hammered into form for strength and reinforced with a wire coil wrap.

Iolite is for intuition, it restores a sense of perception, inspires creativity and more. Quartz is a natural energy amplifier. These go great together!

I can't wait to sit down at my bench and make several more of these. They are just so much fun!

All of my jewelry creations are based on the metaphysical properties of the stones or the colors that are incorporated. Jewelry should be a window to our soul, a protector of our emotions and a companion to our spirit. All of my other creations come directly from my heart in hopes they touch yours as well. Celebrate yourself with healing jewelry, and other gift ideas made with love!

Celebrate February with Amethyst!

As most of us know - amethyst is February's birthstone. The colors range from a light, almost clear purple, to some that are so dark, they look indigo. It is a beautiful member of the quartz family.

Did you know there is more to amethyst than just it's beautiful color and February? It is said that amethyst is the 'sobriety stone'. It was crushed into a powder and added to liquid to protect against drunkenness.  The word amethyst comes from the Greek meaning "without drunkenness" and amethyst is believed to protect one from poison.

It is a bringer of peace, and worn by some to repel guilty and fearful feelings. It has been worn as protection from self-deception, see where the peace comes in. :)

Click the picture to go to my Etsy.com store to see more amethyst jewelry and formations!!!

I love amethyst whether set in jewelry, tumbled and in my pocket, or as a formation on my mantle, don't you :)

This has always been one of my favorites, and I am not even a February baby....hrm, I am an October baby, let's see...count back 9 mo....OMG! in a way, I am a February baby :)

Back to the Workbench

Getting back to the bench is always tough for me after a hiatus. I was ready for the holidays early (this is a first) and had all my pieces out in stores, and my online Etsy store stocked well. That gave me time to concentrate, on the house, the guests coming to visit, the cooking, working and last minute everything that I had put off to make jewelry :)

This year, I have decided to get back into shows and festivals, and my first one is Feb 1, 2014!!! Right around the corner! I am really excited. I have ordered my Square, a new banner and  new displays. I am one step closer. I need to buckle down, get a booth idea sketched out and get new items rolling out. Now sitting back at my workbench, ideas are there, I am just slow to produce them. My mind seems to be elsewhere.

To combat this, I put on music and randomly string. I do not commit the design, I just string, unstring, string, unstrings. Next thing you know, I have some ideas that actually are working for me, and I am excited to start on a new creations.

Here is a bit of a preview of what I am working on!

I hope this new year takes you on many magical adventures!

Fun stuffs from Beadin Path - EZ bracelet sizer

Whew - I am out of practice! I haven't posted in a week due to some back issues and not being able to sit at a computer, but I am back on my feet (and backside) again and rearing to go!!

I got my order from Beadin Path last week and was really excited about one item in particular. I had an EZ bracelet sizer in the past but my dog ate it (no joke) and I needed another one, and was thrilled to find one from Beadin Path

As a free gift I got this great 'Create' Color Carousel!!! How awesome is this! Pick the color you are working with and find it's compliment and contrast!!!!! No more guessing! I love this thing!

Have you ever used a bracelet sizer? Here is the cool magic they work - check it out.
When I lie this bracelet flat, it is a little over 8" long. So you would think it would fit an 8 inch wrist - oh no!!!

*cue smoke and mirrors*

When you connect the toggle and drop it on the EZ bracelet sizer ....... OMG 7 1/4"!!!! It lost almost 1 whole inch!! where did it go?!!?

It is one of those pesky mathematical thingys I believe that causes this. The bracelet is one length, but due to the bulk of the beads, the inside circumference is different. The difference is not as great with the flatter beads.

Look at this one. Here is some fun vintage glass beads. Big and bulky - 14, 12 and 10mm beads. It measures the same - a little over 8" long.

Now bring the clasp together - wave your magic wand

Abrah cadabra!!!!!

6 3/4"!!!!!! well over an inch gone!!!

If you dont' have one of these little gems - they are so worth it. Especially if you have an online store. Customers will know exactly what size the bracelet it, as opposed to how long the bracelet is!

Til tomorrow kids!!!!

They are giving them away!!!! List of give aways from across the web
