Give It Up For Orange! Tie Dye!

I love orange. I don't think it gets the credit it deserves. I rarely hear anyone say orange when they are asked what their favorite color is.

To be honest, my favorite color is blue, it always has been, but lately (in the last few years) I am really starting to gravitate to orange.

Orange and blue go so well together, it does seem like a perfect progression.

Did you know orange is the color of courage and creativity? Encouragement and fascination?

So many spirals

But it is not a bad thing.

Doing it over and over is called perfecting your craft.

i have to start somewhere so I can get to where I want to be.

This was the day for orange!

All of my jewelry creations are based on the metaphysical properties of the stones or the colors that are incorporated. Jewelry should be a window to our soul, a protector of our emotions and a companion to our spirit. All of my other creations come directly from my heart in hopes they touch yours as well. Celebrate yourself with healing jewelry, and other gift ideas made with love!

Carnelian and Rhyolite

I have a selection of jewelry that I call K.I.S.S. - we all know what it stands for :) As much as I love the random, the over the top and the whimsy, there are times where just simple is best. Letting the elements compliment each other simply. That is what I did with this necklace.

I found the carnelian chips at Artbeads.com I love their deep and warm color. It is one of my favorite stones. Who am I kidding, they are all my favorites :)

Looking at the strand, I knew I didn't want to break up the chips and use them as accents. I really wanted them to be the bulk of the design. And when it did come together, it was wonderful!

Small carnelian chips with copper beads and a rhyolite focal.
Carnelian - Creativity, Individuality, Courage
 Rhyolite - Perseverance, Communication

I love how the carnelian accents the ochre colored deposits in the focal stone. Perfect!

It is warm and inviting, making you approachable. It is delicious in every aspect of the word.

Celebrate March with Aquamarine and Bloodstone!

March birthstones are aquamarine and bloodstone!

Did you know.....

Aquamarine is a variety of beryl. It is the "stone of courage". It encourages the innate ability to "always be prepared". Aquamarine also accelerates the intellectual reasoning process.

Bloodstone is a variety of quartz. Bloodstone is also a "stone of courage"! It helps to demonstrate unselfishness and idealism, and to improve talents and creative efforts.

Happy Birthday all my March babies!!!!

March birthstones

March is here already so let's start out the month with some birthstone information.
Birthstones for the calendar month of March are aquamarine and bloodstone.

Aquamarine comes from the Roman word - Aqua, meaning water and mare, meaning sea.

Aquamarine varies in color from blue to green. Aquamarine is a color variety of the mineral beryl giving blue beryl the name aquamarine.

Aquamarine is known as a stone of courage and fortitude. It is reputed to assist with calming communication issues. Mystical and folk lore states that it is attuned to the sea, and protects travelers on water, and sailors.

An alternate birthstone for March is Bloodstone. Bloodstone is a deep green stone with small red specks. The small red specks are where the stone gets its name. The name Bloodstone derives from the legendary belief that the red coloration resulted from the blood of Christ spilling onto green jasper during the crucifixion. For this reason, too, the stone has been called "martyr's stone."

Bloodstone is excellent for centering and grounding. It is said to help with calming, particularly in survival situations. It brings mystical energies of increasing adaptability and organization, and lessening confusion and anxiety. It is said to be a a stone of courage, bringing mental, physical and emotional renewal by releasing blockages.

Both aquamarine and bloodstone share the element of bringing courage to the wearer.

Where can you find these stones?

Ring & Things is one of the few suppliers I have found that have bloodstone. The have a nice selection of both,
aquamarine # 21-888-099-01
and
bloodstone # 21-888-098

There ya have it! Two beautiful stones for the month of March! Think of the possibilities!
