She cracks me up - I had to share.
My daughter at an awards ceremony for local theatre (of which her husband was nominated )
She has a big mouth and is a prankster just like her mama - ruining a perfectly good photo with a photobomb.
Enjoy!!!

I have been at this a long time! 20 years in fact. I have had a lot of fun over the years and had my share of recognition when this medium ...

Thursday Sillyness!!! Get a new do - win a prize!
I can't help myself -this was just too much fun.
My brother and I spent an afternoon putting each other in hairdos and laft till we cried.
Not making fun of the site, and what they offer - because it is a good idea, taken as it is intended. We took it a step further, and used silly pictures of ourselves and put ourselves in outrageous hair :)
Here is the link to the site that had us in stitches Virtual Hairstyles
Here are a couple examples of what we did :)
My brother in his prom hair

Me with luscious long blond locks!! (and chicklet teeth)

Brave enuff to do a picture of yourself? Leave me a link to your photobucket or flickr page that has the image, and I'll put your name in the hat for a goodie package :)
I dare you :)

Something from the Heart
You know I think my daughter is the coolest, it isn't something I am humble about, and this just proves it.
I got home from work last nite, and had an envelope from The Jo.
*think* *think*
What ever could she be sending me. I opened the envelope and out fell all of these funny little cards. Some with memories, some with sayings, and some with drawings. I giggled and giggled as I read thru each one.
One says -
"Someone is stealing from me" - we say this when we misplace something. We could never be absent minded and loose something - oh no - someone stole it from me!
A drawing of -
"Pengin Party" - I love penguins (I pronounce it pengin) What a better party than with a bunch of pengins!!!

And so many more!
Just this funny little gesture did so much for me. Lifted my spirits, energized me, gave me focus, all of this because someone thought of me, and sent me a laff.
I am going to laminate them, and glue magnet strips to the back and hang them on my ice box.
It is so true how it is not the gift, but the thought behind the gift that leaves a lasting impression on us.
Are you thinking of someone? Have you had someone heavy on your heart lately? Scrawl them out a silly little picture of a funny memory you had with them, and pop it in the mail - it will cost you your time, and the price of a stamp but it will be worth so much more!!!!

Ode to a pair of side nippers

Oh side nippers how I love you.
You have been there for me for so long.
Your handles fit my hand, like you were made for me.
You are forever diligent in your consistency to please and perform.
For so long we have worked together, creating the designs that set us apart.
Your cuts are so smooth, so precise, never needing to do any trimming.
You never once balked at the challenges I set forth for you to nip -
Toe nails
Removing stitches from surgery
Seam ripping
Opening packages
Ribbons and thread
Cardboard and paper
But never - never memory wire. I know you would try, but I love you too much to ask that of you.
And now my beloved side nippers, it is time for you to retire. Time for you to go to that quiet place we call the junk drawer.
Full of memories I am of you, and I will carry them fondly where ever I go.
You will be missed...... *sniff*
March Rings and Things Challenge - attempt........
I won't say epic fail, but I will say I am not satisfied with the glue. It left a cloudy look, instead of clear. Is like looking out a dirty window into your garden. *sigh* I don't do windows.......
I was going for a garden, flowery field abstract look.
I used the Brass Rectangle Frame - #49-440-0 for this attempt.

Using my trusty hammer - I crushed, amethyst, peridot and colored glass beads. Then I put a thin layer of Quick Grip glue on the frame - I will never use it again - and positioned the crushed pieces to try and create a picture. I added seed beads here and there and a flower shell. After the glue dried, I put on a thin layer of Mod Podge (I thought I was being clever) and added more crushed stones for a deeper look. I added one more layer of Mod Podge after that layer dried to seal it.
I thought Mod Podge was suppose to dry clear, but I thought wrong.
Here is a close up of the frame, now a pendant

I couldn't leave well enuff alone, so I continued on and used that as a focal for a necklace. I used a filigree bead cap, and mashed it around the eye of the frame to hide it and give it a bit more flare.
I call it Imperial Garden - because it was a royal pain in my Aster - ehehehe I am so punny....
And here is the finished product
