Wire Wrapped Copper Cuff with Amethyst and Fluorite Chips - Jewelry with Meaning - Peacefully Brings Order to Chaos

These bracelets are fun and easy to make.

Use a heavy copper ga. like a 14 ga. If you have a bracelet mandrel, form the wire around the mandrel at the size you want, leaving extra length on the end to coil. If you don't have a mandrel, free form the wire into a cuff form, leaving extra length on the ends to coil.

Coil the ends, using a round nose pliers. Hammer the form on an anvil to give it tinsel strength. Now you have a vague cuff shape to work with.

Using 24 ga copper wire, begin at the base of the coiled end, and wrap the 24 ga wire around the cuff form, spiraling up the form as you go. Keep the wraps tight!

When you are about 1/3 of the way up, start adding your stone chips to the wire, and wrap 3 times in between each stone. Do this across the top of the bracelet about a 1/3 of the way. Now stop adding the stones, and wire wrap the cuff form, down to the base of the opposite coil, so that the whole cuff, excluding the coils has been wrapped in copper.

Now you can free form and shape the cuff to the size you are wanting, or to your wrist!!!

Choose any type of stone chip, swarovski crystal or mix and match!!

What is your favorite stone?

A Peek Inside My Booth - Holiday Style

Over the weekend I did a local Holiday Show. I wanted my space to have a more holiday/festive look to it. Here is what I did

Christmas wreath on the front of the table - two reasons -One because my table cover didn't come to the ground, and two - you see it right as you walked in the door.

I utilized the window sill to display my Bead Trends boards (couldn't hang anything from the wall.) The boards show submissions to Bead Trends magazine. It is something that customers like to see, and oh how do I want to say.....gives validity to my work? It doesn't mean that my work is any more better than anyone elses, I just want it to show, I am serious about my work - does that make sense?

Here is a view of one of the tables. I like to show my SRAJD Certificate. Again - it shows I am serious about my work. My friend gave me the bracelet display, it works great for my copper bracelets.

I like things to be off center - I think it catches the eye - what do you think?

I am so proud of my logo. My friend Nelson designed this for me, actually he surprised me with it. I knew I didn't have the skills to do something of this nature, and knew I was going to have to hire someone. He is a huge fan of my work and encourages me all the time. I asked him one day - "I need to hire someone to make me a logo - What do you charge?" He didn't give me an answer, but said, "let's talk about what you are needing and we'll go from there." So I tried to think, what would I want, what would I need to set me apart, so that when people see my logo they say, Oh yeah!! Couple weeks later, I get an email from Nelson with this in it. I cried. I never once told him what I wanted. He did this all on his own from what he knows about me and about my jewelry. I cried.

The earring board turned out nice I think. Eye catching and fun

I took a couple spools of copper and a few beads to keep myself busy. While standing around thru the day, I made this bracelet.

I put it on the table, and 5 minutes later it was sold!

I am glad I had my camera with me to document it!

How do you set up your displays? Do you think less is more? Do you like more color, more texture? I would love to know!

Blue Baubles - Rings and Things blogger challenge

I am so hooked on these free form wire wrap bracelet designs. I want to make them all the time. I have several ideas in my head, and I need practice, so this morning, I wanted to work with the blue set of shell pearls from Rings & Things.

I used:

29-555-10-905 Bead, Shell Pearl, Round, 10mm (Blue Mix) *
29-555-16-905 Bead, Shell Pearl, Round, 16mm (Blue Mix) *
28-000-007-443 Bead, Glass, Faceted Round, 10mm (Electric Blue) *
Black - Designer Assorted Beads*
47-406-SP 22 ga copper wire
47-408-SP 20 ga copper wire
47-202-SP 14 ga red brass wire
Seed beads

I had some artistic wire from a bucket of goodies from my mother in laws things. I used it as a color accent. The fun thing about this artistic wire, it is coated copper. So as the coating wears off, it will match the rest of the bracelet. Will be a cool look too.

I made these earrings to compliment the bracelet - they are a bit heavier than I normally wear, but for sitting around the office they are ok.

And I couldn't help it!! I had to wear it today!!!!
