My Mom's 80th B'day Party

I went home last weekend to Illinois for my mom's 80th birthday. It was a bit overwhelming. There were people there I have not seen in 20 years. It was like a family reunion/homecoming full of hugs and memories and laughter. It was really hard to leave, I wanted this to go on forever.

For part of my mom's b'day, she requested a 'show'. She wanted everyone to sing to her. So we did :)

My mother is known for her hats. She doesn't leave the house w/o a hat. So at the party, all of the center pieces were one of my mom's hats. Later in the evening, the family all got together, we all put on one of moms hats for a group photo. It is fabulous! Now my dad being the 'shit' that he is - put on one of mom's hats and then took out his teeth and smiled real big - i nearly pee'd my pants. 

One of my best friends came to the party with me. She and her husband, took pictures and filmed a lot of the singing and are putting it on a disk for my mom.  I got a sneak peak of the slide show and she did such a great job! Being the sucker I am for family photos, I  thought I would share it here :)  

I am really easy to pick out :)

Just A Tish Trivia

Did you know I sing? I grew up in the music industry, and have been singing all of my life. In my early 30's I actually pursued a music career of sorts. It was a lot of work, and fun. That along with other things in my life was a fleeting passion and I soon moved onto another dream :)

Welp.....

My best friend talked me into auditioning for X Factor. What have I gotten myself into! Think of me on Monday. I will have a carnelian for courage, and a citrine for success.

Ethics Question

I placed an order with a crafter before Christmas - Dec 14th. I told her no big hurry, didn't have to have it for Christmas, but would like it by the end of the year.
I thought I would be polite, and instead of 'goods' I payed under the category 'gift' using pay pal.

Jan, 9th, I still hadn't received it, and I emailed her, she said it was finished and would be in the mail that week.

Jan 26th, still haven't received it (she is in the same state, it should have took no more than 2 days) I emailed her and asked for my money back, I can't dispute it on PayPal, because it wasn't a delivered good. She said, no problem - still haven't received the payment.

So - now - Do I post on her facebook page, incase she does this to everyone to let them know it can take a while? Prolly not. No matter what I would try to do, I would come across as an asshole. Do I leave it alone and just eat it? My only choice? Surely not.
